A few years ago ... but many years ago, viruses were feared for their devastating action. It's means of transmission were the diskettes. I remember being the floppy 5 / 4 of WordStar (word primitive) I infect the computer at that time.
Today the major focus of propagation is the Internet ... and lately, the external USB storage devices.
It is never too warn to beware and check the health of your penUSB and impose it to whom you can pass by pensUSB problems that attach to your machine.
One of the tools suggested is PenClean. This application is a simple method to check and clean your external storage devices (pensUSB, portable MP3 or MP4, memory cards and external drives).
The software then runs the decompressed and will check the computer (if you arrange to do this) and will check the drive you choose. This check is designed to detect worms and viruses in your storage components. But keep in mind that should not have any disc in optical drive, if so, remove and avoid conflicts.
The process is fast:
After completing the verification process, the software will display a message giving an account of what was or was not found. These reports can then be compared, obtaining more information if malware is detected.
Usually the malware found is of type: Win32.Perlovga, W32.Resik.A (Small.i) Worm.RJump.A, VBS_RESULOWS.A, W32.VB Trojan-ATG or W32/Catcher-A, among others.
