Company creates portal where you can find out who died and write in the book of condolence

visitaA company of Viana do Castelo ( Portugal ) this week launched a service Obituaries for participating in the death of family members, to announce the seventh day of masses or write messages of condolence through an online "virtual graveyard."

The project, told Lusa the prosecutor, appeared for the "awareness of the difficulties sometimes associated with disclosure of a death 'for which' everyone is gone."

"We want to provide an innovative service in Portugal," said Paul Gigante, a businessman in the area of Information Management and Viana do Castelo.

"My area has actually nothing to do, but it appears to try to help those who are for example only realized that he lost a childhood friend on the day of the funeral. And today everything can be done from the internet, "says the site's founder www.janeladasaudade.pt.

Through this portal, which took two years to go from idea to practice, you can participate in the death of relatives or advertise the usual masses of the seventh and thirtieth day online. Even sign the condolence book for the internet.

"It is a service to the community think of emigrants and immigrants. A lot of people relocated from their homeland, both within and outside the country and this is a difficult day to day, "notes Paul Gigante.

Anywhere in the world is now possible to write a farewell message, even if the distance is a reason hampering the physical presence at funerals.

"Nowadays people do not have time for anything so this tool is intended to be an easy, convenient and fast to get information. Of the slightly less positive news from our land ", also focuses on the mentor of the project.

This true "virtual cemetery" is available by parish, county and district covers the whole country, while still allowing the location of the wakes, time, identification of the churches and GPS coordinates of the locations.

The management of the service, which started in early September, will be made in conjunction with the funeral to avoid "pranks" and will cost 50 euros to the families, to include the account of the funeral service.

"Society is going to dictate the success and need this service or not.For our part we are pursuing our goal is because deep down all of those things that we will need, sooner or later ", concluded Paul Gigante.

ASUS GeForce GT 440 1 GB

package1contents

After spectacular product launches in the past three months - of the GeForce GTX 500 series, NVIDIA made a quiet addition to its value~mainstream lineup, with the GeForce GT 440. This is probably the first time that a GPU vendor released a new desktop discrete GPU in an older GPU model family after launching a new one, an addition to the GeForce 400 series after giving its GeForce 500 series a solid start in the performance~enthusiast segments. The GeForce GT 440 existed in the wild as an OEM-only product in various strange configurations, today NVIDIA finalized its specifications, and released it to the consumer market.
The GeForce GT 440 is based on the same 40 nm silicon as the GeForce GT 430, codenamed GF108. Physically, GF108 packs 96 CUDA cores, and a 128-bit wide memory interface. The memory controller, coupled with the overall clock profile, are what separate the GT 440 from the GT 430. While the GT 430 uses GDDR3 memory, GT 440 uses GDDR5 memory that packs twice the memory bandwidth. The GPU is clocked at 810 MHz, the 96 CUDA cores at 1620 MHz, and memory at 900 MHz (3600 MHz GDDR5 effective), churning out 51.2 GB/s of bandwidth. Partners can also opt for cheaper GDDR3 memory. Since GDDR3 memory is synthetically half the cost of GDDR5, partners can opt for 1 GB of GDDR3 over 512 MB GDDR5, or 2 GB of GDDR3 over 1 GB GDDR5. The faster GDDR5 will always have the upper hand with performance, and that's what we're reviewing today.
On the chopping block is ASUS GeForce GT 440, an in-house design by ASUS that uses its own PCB and cooler designs. The card uses 1 GB of GDDR5 memory. ASUS' implementation claims to be superior to the reference design in many aspects, including an out of the box GPU overclocked speed of 822 MHz, high-grade "super alloy" electrical components (such as chokes, MOSFETs, and capacitors), and a better-performing cooler that features a dust-repelling fan with a longer life.

8.0
NVIDIA's GeForce GT 440 is not really a new kid on the block. It has been available for OEMs to use in their pre-assembled systems since fall last year. Last year's GT 440 OEM is a fundamentally different design than today's GeForce GT 440. Whereas GT 440 OEM was based on GF106 with 144 shaders, NVIDIA's new GT 440 uses GF108 with 96 shaders - essentially the same configuration as GeForce GT 430. The major difference between GT 430 and GT 440 is that GT 440 can be equipped with fast-running, but more expensive, GDDR5 memory.
The ASUS GT 440 that we have on our testbench today comes with 1 GB of GDDR5 which helps the card gain some performance compared to GT 430 GDDR3. Another improvement is that ASUS has overclocked the GPU out of the box to a frequency of 823 MHz. Overall this results in a 23% performance boost over GeForce GT 430, but also increases power consumption substantially. Where we saw 36 W under load on GT 430, GT 440 consumes 55 W. Power consumption in non-gaming states is still incredibly low with 7 W in idle at the desktop and 12 W when playing back Blu-ray content.
GeForce GT 440 is really not made for gaming, even though we see it manage 1024x768 at lower detail setting in older titles. If you are into 3D gaming then you should really look at GTS 450 which costs around $30 more but is 70% faster.
While an exact pricing is not available yet, our optimistic prediction is around the USD 100 mark, which means that the card is more expensive than AMD's HD 5670, that delivers 11% more performance. HD 5770 for $120 is even twice as fast. Until NVIDIA reduces the prices of their GT 440 and GT 430 substantially, I don't see it gaining any substantial market share.

GTA 4 PC is FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL

The game took about 2 and a half hours to install. I wish I was exaggerating that, but @WNDUPhenom on Twitter was there the whole time to witness it. It was awful. Then once I finally had it installed, I had to sign up for Rockstar's Social Club, as well as Games for Windows FAIL (though I already had this due to Gears of War). Then once I finally booted up the game, it downloaded an update for LIVE, then restarted the game. Then after I got BACK into the game, it made me accept the LIVE terms of service. OK fine, but there was still a catch. It would minimize the game, LAUNCH a web browser, and make me accept the terms there. Better yet, once the browser launched, the page couldn't be found! Not to mention the page was on the XBOX section of the site, not the games for windows section. So I had to find the ToC myself, THEN accept it, THEN relaunch the game.
Then it let me play.
The game is fun, so I could almost forgive all of that. But the performance issues were very present. I ran the game at 1650X1050 with all settings on medium and averaged 17-20 FPS. Now you've gotta be kidding me, I get better framerates in Crysis on the Very High settings at that same resolution. There is no convincing me that GTA 4 has more intensive graphics techniques implemented than Crysis. My rig, shown on my profile is no slouch. It should eat this game alive.
But I tried to ignore it, and persisted.
Rockstar released a patch the other day, 'fixing' many performance issues. Well, that's what the dev notes said anyways. I downloaded it the other day but hadn't tried playing.
I've had a rough week. It's been long, it's been stressful, and today I had a rare bit of free time before work, and I was a little gloomy, so I thought playing a game might make things better.
Fired up GTA4 and loaded up my game. To my complete surprise, my character would spin in circles nonstop, as if I was mousing up/left infinitely. Outside of that, I had no input at all. Something was inhibiting my commands in game. I restarted the game, restarted my PC, nothing fixed the problem. It seemed as if the game thought I had an XBOX controller attatched, for it was shown in the options.
I don't have said controller. I have an old Logitech USB rumblepad. It's currently in my drawer, most definitely NOT plugged into my PC.
I switched it off, souring my mood even more. Did some research, and found this nugget of joy . Take a look at the section about the look/spin/stuck key issue. Look at their solution. Just look at it. I'll wait.
...
Back? Are you facepalming as bad as I did? Rockstar's serious, literal, honest-to-god temp fix is that the gamers UNINSTALL their directinput drivers for their input devices.
YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. OF ALL THE ABSURD THINGS I'VE EVER SEEN. I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS. I BROKE MY CAPS LOCK IN RAGE.
I.. I can't get over how insulting this port is. And the best part of all of this? I don't even have a controller plugged in or installed, so their bogus temp fix doesn't even work for me!
I can't play GTA 4 until they release another patch. How's that spent money treating me? Piss-poor, that's how.

Number of European Ciberconsumers doubles

consumers(Corrected) Between 2005 and 2010, the number of Europeans using the Internet to shop has doubled from 20% to 40%, a study commissioned by the Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection of the European Parliament.
For the values achieved have contributed the growth of Internet access in homes of the European Union, which in turn almost doubled in that period analyzed, standing at 70% in 2010, according to the latest figures from Eurostat.
However, the report "Consumer behavior in the digital environment" emphasizes that the largest growth rates were recorded in countries where electronic commerce is more developed, showing that in Southern Europe and Eastern Europe, consumers are less likely shopping online.
Despite the growth of electronic commerce, most Internet users still prefer shopping at national sites, with only 23% to purchase goods and services company Web sites outside of your country.
According to the data gathered, the products are traded over the clothes and accessories and airline tickets, as opposed to computers and electronic products, apparently less desirable to purchase through the Internet for the citizens of the European Union.
Highlighting some benefits of electronic commerce, such as reducing the environmental costs and distribution, responsible for the analysis concluded, however, that the Internet is also a resource that facilitates access to illegal products, suggesting some changes in legislation.
