Samsung announced it is preparing to launch an instant messaging service for mobile devices
Like Research In Motion, the BlackBerry Messenger, and Apple, which is also about to launch an instant messaging service for iPhone and iPad, Samsung also wants a slice of the market.
According to Samsung, Chaton be launched in October and will be pre-installed on their mobile devices, both smartphones and mobile phones based on Android or Bada, the mobile operating system from South Korean manufacturer.
In addition to sending instant messages between devices Samsung, the service will allow users to send text messages, photos and video between devices from other manufacturers.
At a later stage the company is considering launching applications Chaton specific to other platforms.
