Sony Online Entertainment has provided details of the attack that led to the closure of its servers.

Details of 24.6 million accounts at Sony Online Entertainment have been committed by the same attack which hit the PlayStation Network.

In a statement, the producer explains that the closure of the servers announced yesterday was due to the possibility that hackers had access to personal information of its customers.

This will include name, complete address, email, gender, birth date, phone number, login and hashed password, specify the SOE.

A database containing about 12,700 credit card numbers from users not residing in the United States and 10,700 records direct debit with NIB customers from Germany, Austria, Holland and Spain may also have been compromised.

Nevertheless, the NOS said that the master database was not affected.

Remember that the company is responsible for online games like FreeRealms, DC Universe Online and Everquest.
